Businesses and individuals looking to connect careers with applicants are invited to participate in the 2024 Career Expo on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the BAAM Athletic Center in Easton. Building African American Minds (BAAM) is hosting the event with its partners for the second year as it works to develop more workforce development offerings.

Participating businesses will have job opportunities to share with the community, with offerings including the ability to hire on the spot, on-the-job training, remote or telework positions, entry-level positions, reimbursement and allowance programs, and more.

“This event is free and open to high schools and adults who are seeking job opportunities, especially in Talbot County,” said BAAM Director of Instruction, Academic Support, and Community Well-being Dr. James Bell, Jr. “Career expo attendees will also have the opportunity to build relationships with businesses and people who may be able to help them out professionally, with job opportunities, and with developing skills.”

On-site resume assistance will be provided at the Career Expo by the Black Nurses Association of Maryland Eastern Shore (BNAMES).  Childcare will also be available for attendees during the event if needed.

For more information about the Career Expo, contact BAAM Workforce Development Coordinator Andre Sorrell at 410-310-4425 or asorrell@baaminc.org.
